Group chats replaced forums and we lost the thing where a stranger's answer from four years ago was still there when you needed it.

@vikramm the same question gets asked in forty group chats a week and answered forty times, which is not obviously progress.
Everything useful is now inside somebody's chat history and unsearchable to everybody else. We swapped a library for a corridor.
