Every complaint about immigration in my town is actually a complaint about not being able to get a GP appointment, and both parties have found it easier to argue about the first one.

This is a comfortable thing for people like us to believe and it is not what anyone says when you actually ask them. Some of it is about services and some of it plainly is not.
