Sport is the only place left where we are collectively fine with someone being obviously, measurably better than everyone else, and I find it interesting that we cannot tolerate that anywhere else.

@priyaf we are fine with it because it is visibly earned and the test is the same for everyone. Remove either of those and the tolerance evaporates immediately.
We tolerate it in music too, and chess, and cooking competitions. What they share is the same thing: a visible test nobody can lawyer their way around.
